Logistics giant slashing use of fossil fuels
In the period up to 2030, DB Schenker wants to slash its specific greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by at least 40% compared to the level in 2006. This will enable the logistics subsidiary to make a major contribution to the DB Group’s new climate target that foresees at least halving its GHG emissions worldwide in the same time frame.
At present, nearly two-thirds of the German group’s total emissions stem from DB Schenker. The service provider started the New Year by switching its distribution traffic to e-vehicles in Paris.
In Sweden, the company already uses sustainable biofuels to power around 800 vehicles. Almost 33% of the diesel fuel consumption has been replaced by renewable energy (ben)
