Danish shipping company A.P. Moeller-Maersk will buy Sweden-based KGH Customs Services for SKR 2.6 billion (approx. EUR 250 million) from investor Bridgepoint Development Capital. With this acquisition, Maersk aims to widen its customer portfolio in Europe and improve its performance as an integrated container logistics company offering end-to-end supply chain services.

KGH, headquartered in Gothenburg, provides customs handling services and employs 770 foreign trade and customs experts who serve around 25,000 customers a year. The company generated revenues of SKR 890 million (approx. EUR 85 million) in 2019 and a recurring profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of SKR 160 million (approx. EUR 15.3 million). KGH processes about million customs clearances per annum. (mw)
