Malawi Airlines starting flights to Jo'burg today
Malawi Airlines – co-founded by Ethiopian Airlines – is launching flights to Johannesburg (South Africa) today (17 February). The carrier already offers services from Lilongwe and Blantyre (both Malawi) to Lusaka (Zambia), Harare (Zimbabwe), and Beira, Tete and Maputo (all Mozambique).
According to the airline, it plans to increase its schedule shortly and has long-term plans to introduce flights to Durban (South Africa). Last year, Air Malawi went into liquidation and was rebranded following a partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, which owns 49% of the new carrier.
