Many more flowers flown by Latam Cargo

More than 210 Latam Cargo B767-300F took off from Colombia (2.2 times more than in an ordinary week) and Ecuador (+3.5 times), carrying 12,600 t of flowers - 6,600 t from Bogotá and Medellín, and 6,000 t from Quito, for the Valentine’s Day season, the peak of the fresh flower export activity together with Mother’s Day.

This year’s figure represents a growth of 45% compared to 2019. This is the result of the carrier's new strategy, creating a permanent and stable increase of operations in both countries. Only last week, Latam Cargo launched a new destination in Colombia, Cali.

Roses, mixed bouquets and carnations were the stars of this year's flower season (14 January - 10 February). They were mainly shipped via Latam's Miami hub to the USA (11,500 t) and the Netherlands (850 t). (ah)
