Mexican cargo element leaves Latam Airlines Group
Three months later than announced in April 2018 (see ITJ 21-22/2018, p. 36), the Latam Airlines Group has now finalised the sale of its participation in the Mexican company, Aerotransportes Mas de Carga (Mas Air), to a group led by the current shareholders of the company mentioned above.
As of 1 December 2018, Mas Air is now fully independent from the Latin American airlines group of which it had been a member since it was created through the takeover of Brazil-based Tam Airlines by the Chilean carrier Lan Airlines in 2012.
The Mexican airline, which was established in 1992 and saw a first investment by Lan Airlines in 2000, currently operates one B767-300 freighter. (ah)
