More calls in West Africa
Hamburg-headquartered Hapag-Lloyd is set to further enhance its West Africa offering. As of week 47, the carrier will introduce the Dakar Express service (DEX) which will offer weekly sailings from North Europe to Senegal and Mauretania and vice versa.
In addition, those markets will be connected with the shipping group's global mainline network via Tangier. Hapag-Lloyd will remove the port of Dakar (Senegal) from the West Africa Express (WAX) rotation to reduce operational stress and improve the schedule reliability.
The DEX, which will deploy four x 1700 teu Hapag-Lloyd operated vessels, will call Antwerp, Dunkirk, Lisbon, Tangier, Dakar, Nouakchott, Tangier, Leixoes and Antwerp. (kd)
