More capacity for general cargo

In addition to three long trucks already in operation, Germany-based Güttler Logistik will now be deploying another 21 m long tractor-trailer combination consisting of a machinery wagon with a fixed body and a through-loading tandem trailer.

With this new acquisition, the forwarder is responding to increased demand for general cargo transports in Europe. The new gigaliner enables Güttler to save at least 30% of its previous CO2 emissions.

With its overall concept with no dolly and one axle less, the vehicle’s unladen weight has been reduced from 24 to 17.5 t compared to the previous model. This provides an additional 6.5 t of payload. With one axle less, the truck-trailer combination optimises fuel consumption by 1.5 litres. (ben)
