More capacity for Norwegian beverage supplier

Dematic is automating Vectura’s despatch warehouse by installing a collation and sequencing solution. The system allows the Norwegian company, which provides logistics services for producers, retailers and importers of alcoholic beverages, to increase its throughput: In future, up to 75 pallets can be processed per hour while sequencing up to 400 pallets simultaneously.

At the same time, Dematic’s solution will help the beverage supplier to make maximum use of its space. It will not be necessary to extend the current building; instead, the existing automated pallet warehouse at the site in Gjelleråsen will be expanded by adding a mezzanine floor.

The facility is due to go live in the summer of 2020. The installation will be coordinated to avoid disruption to the business so that Vectura can deliver 50 million pallets per year to state-owned Vinmonopolet stores, wholesalers and the hotel and catering industry with its customary reliability.
