More services to Sweden

Cargonet intends to strengthen its presence on cross-border train connections between Norway and Sweden. From February 2021, it will therefore increase the frequency from five to six days a week in each direction on the train transport between Oslo and the Skane region in Sweden.

With terminal calls in Malmö and Trelleborg, Cargonet can connect Oslo with southern Sweden's most important hubs for import and export traffic. The service, also known as the Scandinavian Rail Express, can save the environment from up to 14,000 t of carbon dioxide per year with a frequency of six trains a week.

The new train will mean that Cargonet has a coverage rate every weekday of the week as well as a weekend departure to and from Sweden. (ben)
