More space in Paris
Geodis has opened another site in the French capital Paris. After a two year construction period, the new 15'000 sqm depot reinforces the group’s position in the Paris region. The facility also underscores Geodis’ commitment to a cleaner urban distribution, achieved by developing logistics bases in different parts of the capital and using a fleet of electric vehicles.
Olivier Melot, Geodis’s EVP distribution & express, says: "We have designed and implemented a network, which is located as close as possible to our Parisian customers."
The new site features two new sorting lines, an overhead line capable of sorting 2,500 parcels an hour and a ground line used for pallets, operating at a rate of 200 pallets an hour. With this technical equipment, the depot is capable of handling 3,000 deliveries or 8,400 parcels per day. (mw)
