More Transmontana locos ordered
The Swedish railfreight company Green Cargo is investing in its locomotive fleet. It has ordered another four Transmontana locomotives from the Romanian manufacturer Softronic, which are due to be delivered by 2024.
Green Cargo's fleet will then include a total of 22 Transmontana locomotives. They will be used primarily for the transport of industrial goods in the north of the country.
Green Cargo has been using six-axle Transmontana locomotives since 2018. These units are as powerful as two RC locomotives, the most common type of locomotive in Sweden, but with significantly lower energy consumption. (ben)
