More truck-on-train services
The Austria-based Rail Cargo Group is shifting ever more HGVs to the railway. The Brenner shuttle’s average utilisation factor has now risen to 93%.
Due to increasing demand for rolling motorway (truck-on-train) services, Rail Cargo Operator is augmenting its wagon capacity and boosting the number of paired trains from 16 to 18 per day on the Wörgl – Lake Brenner route, with effect from 3 July.
The additional wagons will provide space for 648 HGVs – an increase of 12.5%, or 72 more HGVs per day. Rail Cargo Operator uses the rolling motorway to transport a wide range of vehicles on special low platform wagons. (ben)
