New cargo head for WestJet

WestJet recently appointed Sabir Ebrahim as its head of cargo operations.

He now focuses on efficiency gains, safety compliance and strengthening collaboration with colleagues and service partners. Ebrahim emphasised the importance of balancing commercial needs with operations, while maintaining safety and security standards.

According to Julius Mooney, WestJet’s cargo commercial director, Ebrahim’s mix of operational and pricing expertise makes him well placed to optimise WestJet Cargo’s performance.

His background includes roles at Emirates and Qatar Airways, before joining WestJet Cargo in 2023 as its manager for cargo pricing and systems. Ebrahim holds a degree in computer and information sciences from Skyline University College.

Ebrahim said his priority is to engage with internal stakeholders and service providers, building relationships and identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency. (gy)
