Nice airport notes double-digit increase in freight
Nice airport (NCE) registered 12,400 t of flown airfreight in 2107, 21% more than in 2016. The upsurge was mainly due to Qatar Airways’ return to the French airport after a four year absence.
The airline provides five flights per week to Doha, thus reinforcing capacities to the Middle East, on top of Emirates’ daily Nice- Dubai rotation that carries 76% of the freight volumes.
NCE also reported that trucked air cargo, which started to shrink steadily from 2010, made a strong recovery last year, and practically doubled its volume from 4,000 t to 7,900 t.
