OneOcean and SHI sign digital collaboration MoU

Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and OneOcean, Lloyd's Register's digital solutions provider, signed an MoU at Kormarine in Busan to develop digital and data technologies. The partnership focuses on data sharing, machine learning and AI to improve vessel performance, including lifespan modelling and voyage optimisation with boil-off gas models for SHI-built ships, supporting future design improvements.

This collaboration builds on SHI's longstanding relationship with Lloyd's Register and aims to enhance the accuracy of vessel modelling, strengthening OneOcean's leadership in data-driven performance and optimisation. OneOcean, formed from LR OneOcean and Ocean Technologies Group, leverages over 20 years of experience in vessel analysis and voyage optimisation to deliver actionable insights. SHI's EVP, Mr Jang, highlighted digital solutions' role in advancing eco-friendly, autonomous vessels. Andy McKeran of OneOcean emphasised that the partnership aligns with their mission to use data, AI and smarter workflows to improve safety, sustainability and vessel performance, creating value for the maritime industry.
