Ports of Indiana names first foreign trade director

Ports of Indiana has appointed Dexter Salenda as its first foreign trade and economic development director. The newly created role aims to expand the state’s foreign-trade zone programme and strengthen services for companies facing international trade and tariff challenges.

Salenda brings nearly 15 years of experience from DHL Global Forwarding, DB Schenker and Inzone with him. Most recently, he managed business development at DHL for life sciences, healthcare and chemicals, focusing on temperature-sensitive pharma supply chains.

CEO Jody Peacock said Salenda’s expertise will help create new value for Indiana firms through FTZs and container services. Salenda emphasised that his priority is to raise awareness of FTZ benefits and grow containerised cargo business at Indiana’s ports, all of which are FTZ-designated. (ah)
