PSA keeping the balance in 2022

Singapore-headquartered PSA International (PSA) has reported its results for 2022. In total, the Group handled container volumes of 90.9 million teu globally. Compared to 2021, the group’s volume decreased by 0.7%. The flagship PSA Singapore contributed 37 million teu (-0.7%), while PSA terminals outside Singapore handled 53.9 million teu (-0.7%).

Tan Chong Meng, group CEO of PSA, commented on the moderate decline, pointing out the “negative aftershocks which were compounded by the war in Ukraine, higher energy prices, global inflation and supply chain disruptions." The outlook for 2023 is brighter, with the company expecting its business to profit from the acquisition of BDP International in 2022. (sh)
