QSL replaces warehouse

Meyer Quick Service Logistics (QSL) is expanding its presence in Northern Germany. The fresh goods logistician has moved into a new warehouse in the southern part of Hamburg. The multi-temperature facility replaces the former crossdock in Hamburg and offers room for frozen goods, dried goods and fresh goods on a space of 7,000 sqm. “With our good transport links we can guarantee fast and reliable deliveries for our customers,” says Thorsten Kilgenstein, director operations at QSL.

At the beginning, QSL employs a staff of 35 people, who move about 600 pallets with incoming and outgoing goods per day. “Later on, we plan to create 40 more jobs in this location,” Kilgenstein explains. The company decided to expand its capacities in order to meet increasing demand from a large customer from the system catering segment.

Part of the warehouse will still be used as a crossdock for several customers from the region. The proximity to the port is also ideal for exports. „As from spring 2020 we are planning to organise export services for our customers from Hamburg to diverse countries such as the Ivory Coast, Israel, Kenya or Martinique,” Kilgenstein says.
