Ramping up capacity for trailers and containers
Kombiverkehr is increasing the train frequency between Germany and the Italian port of Trieste, where ferry connections to Turkey and Greece are available.
An additional train now leaves the terminal operated by Samer Seaports & Terminals (SS&T) in Trieste on Tuesdays, and heads for the BASF intermodal terminal in Ludwigshafen. In the opposite direction, an additional train from the Rhine-Neckar region departs on Saturdays and runs to the SS&T terminal.
The German intermodal service provider is also raising the train frequency on the Munich-Riem to Trieste route from four to five round trips per week, as from 5 July. The three additional trains create space for more than 200 trailers and containers per week. (ben)
