RCG gains certifications in Europe
The ÖBB Rail Cargo Group (RCG) has officially begun operations in Belgium after receiving a unified safety certificate from the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA) for the Netherlands, Belgium, and the German border region. This certification enables RCG to operate freight services under its own traction.
The first RCG train, running independently from Roosendaal in the Netherlands, arrived at the port of Zeebrugge on 14 October. With Belgium now integrated into RCG’s international production network, customers gain access to new TransFER routes and transport solutions across the Benelux region as the company reported. "With the launch of our operations in Belgium, we are strengthening our position as a leading European rail logistics provider," stated Clemens Först, CEO of ÖBB RCG. (js)
