Ryan Foley appointed COO at Blue Water
Ryan Foley has been appointed chief operating officer (COO) for energy, ports & projects at Blue Water Shipping, effective January 2026, and will join the management board. He is the company's first board member from outside Denmark, coming from the UK. Foley was previously announced as senior vice president of projects and now steps into the COO role following Thomas Bek's move to CEO earlier this year. CEO Bek praised Foley's fit with the company's values and his strong qualifications, highlighting the importance of international leadership.
Foley, formerly CEO of Industrial Projects at DHL Global Forwarding, will oversee Blue Water's project logistics across energy, infrastructure, mining, renewables and industrial sectors. He aims to build on the company's reputation for tailored, safe and scalable project logistics, working with regional teams worldwide. Bek emphasised the company's growth ambitions and commitment to delivering top-quality service, with Foley based in London to lead efforts across Europe, Oceania, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East/Africa.
