Short, medium and very long cargo options

Jazz Aviation and Air Canada will begin operating the recently approved Dash 8-400 "Simplified Package Freighter" developed by De Havilland Canada under the Air Canada Express banner. These reconfigured aircraft will carry a total of 8.1 t of cargo in the PAX cabin and belly.

Tim Strauss, VP Air Canada Cargo: "This aircraft will allow us to provide critical cargo lift on short and medium-haul routes that have been impacted by the reduction of passenger flights."

At the same time, Air Canada just performed the longest leg ever flown by a Canadian registered aircraft, when one of its B787-9 landed in Toronto, on 27 April 2020, after 15,810 km flown since taking off in Sydney. This journey with 20 t of cargo on board occurred as a result of Air Canada’s recent strategic focus on the cargo market.
