Spar invests in Hungarian logistics


Spar Hungary has invested EUR 6.8 million to expand its logistics network, aiming to improve store supply efficiency and working conditions for staff. In Üllő, the retailer completed a EUR 1.76 million project adding a 410 sqm transport facility with offices, and driver amenities, serving 150 transport staff and 250 drivers. The new complex also centralises scheduling and includes parking for 150 vehicles as the company reported.

 

In 2025, Spar opened a EUR 5.04 million transhipment hub in Budapest to strengthen shop deliveries in the capital. With 1,800 employees in logistics, Spar sees efficient transport as critical for serving its 652 Spar and Interspar outlets nationwide. Márk Maczelka, head of communications, said professional logistics ensures products reach stores on time and in top quality. (js)
