Strong March in Koper

The container terminal of the Port of Koper on the Adriatic Sea processed more than 97,000 teu in March this year, exceeding the mark set exactly three years ago, in March 2018, when slightly more than 92,300 teu were handled.

Dimitrij Zadel, president of Luka Koper's management board, spoke of "an important milestone, especially in the light of the consequences of the pandemic and the current global situation in logistics sector."

This trend will be supported by the extension of the quayside Pier I of the terminal which is expected to be completed in June this year, while the construction of the hinterland storage areas is continuing.

"It will increase the terminal’s annual capacity to 1.3 million teu, and, with additional improvements of work processes, to one and a half million teu," said Metod Podkrižnik, who heads the commercial and operational segments on Luka Koper's management board of. (cd)
