Substantial growth in oil logistics for Bolloré

The 2018 financial statements have been approved by Bolloré’s board of directors. Last year’s revenue amounted to just over EUR 23 billion, a 7% increase at constant scope and exchange rates (+26% as reported), thanks to a 9% surge in transport and logistics activities.

Ebitda totalled EUR 2.738 billion, 33% more than in 2017, and operating income amounted to EUR 1.3 billion, up 25% at constant scope and exchange rates (+17% as reported).

Bolloré Logistics’ results were driven by growth in sea and air freight volumes, and Bolloré Africa Logistics (+9%) benefitted from higher port terminal volumes. The French company’s rail business expanded due to more goods traffic, particularly at Sitarail.

The oil logistics sector expanded by 25% on the back of higher prices for petroleum products and a slight increase in volumes. The 4% increase in the communications business, was mainly attributable to Vivendi (+4%), which benefited from growth at UMG (+10%). (mw)
