Superstars for Finnlines
Finnlines, which operates ro-ro and passenger services in the Baltics and the North Sea, has introduced two new vessels on the Kapellskär–Långnäs–Naantali route, with the first vessel, the 'M/S Finnsirius', making its maiden call at the port of Kapellskär on 15 September 2023.
These new vessels, part of the Superstar class, are the largest in Finnlines' fleet and will significantly increase cargo and passenger capacity. Cargo capacity per vessel will rise by 24%, passenger capacity will double, and foot passengers can now travel without a car.
This investment supports sustainable shipping and offers enhanced travel options between Sweden, the Åland Islands, and Finland, with the port of Kapellskär as a major freight hub. (pb)
