Tapping into the potential of Prague

The Atlanta-based US infrastructure investment firm Ventus, which was founded last year and which focuses on Europe and North America, and the Singaporean company Sky Logistica have acquired Skyport. The central European air cargo infrastructure company is the leading cargo handler at Prague airport in Czechia and also operates in Bratislava and Košice (both Slovakia).

Skyport operates in a 20,000 sqm semi-automated airside facility that was acquired by the Singapore-based Elite Logistics Fund, and processes more than half of all air cargo passing through the Czech capital’s airport (50,118 t in 2020: –32.5%; see also page 12 of the Eastern & Central Europe Special in ITJ 15-16/2021).

Ventus CEO Andy Popovich pointed out that “Skyport has huge potential for growth. We’ll focus on optimising facilities and unlocking capacities by deploying technology to enhance operations.” (ah)
