Three-point landing for Beaujolais Nouveau
Year after year the same traditions crop up, no matter what happens… and the Beaujolais Nouveau launch has always been an annual French custom and a tradition in the universe of wine. The new wine is always released - year after year - on the third Thursday of November and its debut gives pleasant and pure moments of conviviality when people all over the world gather to imbibe a glass of this very special beverage.
Air France-KLM-Martinair Cargo is proud to be a major actor in upholding this tradition. The carrier supports the event year in, year out, by carrying large quantities of the precious liquid on board its full freighters and in the belly holds of its passenger aircraft. This year no less than 1,650 t of Beaujolais have been conveyed by the French-Dutch group of airlines to the traditional markets that greatly appreciate this type of wine.
As customary, Japan tops the list of Beaujolais Nouveau connoisseurs as 76% of the overall volume is flown to that destination. The remaining amount was transported to China, Canada, the USA and various places in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa.
