Tjivikua appointed CEO of Namibia’s Roads Authority

Namibia’s Roads Authority (RA) has appointed Mbahupu Hippy Tjivikua as its new CEO, effective 1 January 2026. He brings extensive experience in public management and the transport sector, where reliable road corridors play a central role in the country’s cargo flows to and from ports and inland hubs.

A one-month transition period begins today, 1 December 2025, to ensure a smooth handover from outgoing CEO Conrad Mutonga Lutombi, who retires at year-end after years of shaping Namibia’s infrastructure agenda. The RA board thanked him for his contribution to national mobility and logistics development.

Under Tjivikua’s leadership, the RA aims to strengthen the efficiency and resilience of Namibia’s strategic road network, which underpins regional trade routes and supports growing freight demand across the SADC region. (ah)
