To Paris with pride
The European Transport Workers’ Federation (ETF) will hold a major equality conference in Paris today and tomorrow, 27–28 June, standing against growing far-right attacks on LGBTQI+ rights.
Entitled 'We Are All Equally Different', the event follows rising harassment against LGBTQI+ workers – especially in Hungary – and aims to mobilise union solidarity across Europe.
"Unions must act where governments fail,” said ETF general secretary Livia Spera. The programme includes testimonies from LGBTQI+ transport workers, workshops on collective bargaining and participation in Paris Pride. The ETF will also unveil new campaign materials with the message 'Be proud, be safe, be organised'. (ah)
