Turkish Airlines continues to grow and invest
In the presence of the heads of state of Turkey and France, Turkish Airlines and Airbus signed a letter of intent covering the purchase of 20 A350-900s and the option for five more aircraft.
The Turkish carrier’s CEO, M. İlker Aycı (left at the table) said: "This order will play a key role in our growing business in future years.”
2017 has been described as a "very successful business year”. In December 2017, freight and mail volumes were 18.4% higher than in the same month in 2016. The main drivers of that growth were business in the Middle East (+28.7%) and Europe (+24%). A 21% increase to 1.3 million t of freight is predicted for 2018. (ah)
