USA: going even greener with RNG

UPS has signed an agreement with Clean Energy Fuels to purchase 645 million litre equivalents of renewable natural gas (RNG) through 2026. The measure will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by more than 1 million t.

UPS said it is the largest commitment for the use of RNG to date by any company in the USA. RNG is a key part of the integrator's strategy to raise alternative fuel consumption to 40% of total ground fuel purchases by 2025, supporting the logistics leader’s efforts to reduce the absolute GHG emissions of its ground fleet 12% by 2025.

Since 2009, UPS has invested more than USD 1 billion in alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles and fuelling stations globally. (ben)
