Vietnamese line with first US call
The ‘Haian Zeta’, a 1,702 teu containership built in Germany in 2010 and acquired by the Vietnamese company Hai An Transport and Stevedoring (Hai An TS) in February 2025, has made the firm’s first-ever port call in the USA.
Chartered by Sealead Shipping, the vessel operates on the Mediterranean–North Africa–US East Coast route. Exactly one month ago, on 17 May, it arrived in New York with 830 teu, where it discharged 743 teu and loaded 287 teu before sailing to Norfolk (pictured).
The Vietnamese crew under captain Dang Thanh Tam passed the strict US Coast Guard inspection without deficiencies.
