Wincanton extends Halfords relationship
The British logistics provider Wincanton has signed a new five year contract with the cycling and car accessories retailer Halfords, thus extending the two companies' relationship to eight years. Wincanton remains the sole supplier of transport services to Halfords in the UK.
Under the terms of the deal Wincanton is responsible for transporting products relating to car maintenance, car enhancement, car servicing, cycling and travel from Halfords’ warehouses to its stores. The contract will see Wincanton deploy 55 vehicles delivering approximately 15'000 loads per year to 476 stores across the UK.
Operations will be run out of the Halfords distribution centres in Coventry and Redditch, with 130 Wincanton colleagues working in support of the contract. (mw)
