ZF boosts heavy truck sustainability

ZF's TraXon 2 hybrid transmission is proving effective in real-world tests with European fleets and the German Transport Association (BGL), demonstrating significant emission reductions while maintaining vehicle range and cost efficiency. The hybrid system, compatible with various fuels and existing infrastructure, could reduce CO2 emissions by up to 47% in long-haul and 73% in distribution transport. Its design allows seamless integration into different vehicle architectures and supports electric driving, boost and regenerative braking.

Developed with proven manufacturing technology, the system offers a practical, infrastructure-independent solution for fleets aiming to meet sustainability targets. Industry experts praise its reliability and efficiency, positioning it as a crucial technology for decarbonising commercial transport until full electrification becomes widespread. ZF's innovative hybrid solution helps fleet operators achieve environmental goals while delivering economic benefits, reinforcing its role in future sustainable mobility strategies.
