Zufall pools tyre logistics

The Zufall logistics group has founded a new subsidiary, Zufall tyre logistics (ZLT) in order to pool its activities in the tyre segment and expand the business in the long term. With retroactive effect to 1 June 2019, ZLT takes over the services that used to be performed by its former sister company Müller + Partner for Hankook Tire Germany and Kumho Tire Europe.

In a storage area that covers more than 60,000 sqm the logistics services provider holds more than 1 million car tyres and about 40,000 truck tyres in stock. ZTL offers its customers value added services over and above simple deliveries. For Hankook, Zufall controls the entire supply chain once the goods have arrived in Europe.

Matthias Schnarr, head of the logistics department, explains how ZLT operates: “We take care of customs handling, unload the sea containers, transport the tyres to the central warehouse and store them there. When our system receives an order, we deliver the tyres to their destination.” Depending on the size of the order, either one or two tyres are despatched by parcel service or up to an entire truck load of more than 1,000 tyres is sent on its way.
