It’s coming home: Universal Transport delivers football mascot
Universal Transport has brought back the football club KKS Lech Poznań its 100-year-old club mascot, a restored Ty51-183 steam locomotive. Hundreds of supporters of the Polish club accompanied the night transport along the roadside.
The journey was effectively staged with a fog machine and additional lighting until the locomotive finally found its final location on a pedestal in front of the INEA Stadium in Poznań after several hours. The 26-ton coal car was hoisted onto a truck trailer by auto crane first, then the black steam locomotive. Due to the much higher weight of the locomotive, a second crane was used.
