200 platforms for hauling more containers by rail
Russia-based United Transport and Logistics Company – Eurasian Railway Alliance (UTLC ERA) has signed an agreement with Belarusian manufacturer OPME for 200 x 80 foot container railcars. The units are due for delivery before the end of April 2019.
The total value of the contract is more than RUB 650 million (EUR 8.65 million). UTLC ERA intends to form its own railcar fleet to cater for the increasing amount of transit traffic growth and step up efficiency. At the end of December 2018, the company already had more than 4,000 wagons at its disposal. (ben)
