30 years of joint humanitarian missions

This year, two of best known names in the air cargo charter world are marking 30 years of collaboration in humanitarian missions. To celebrate, Konstantin Vekshin of Volga-Dnepr Group and Justin Lancaster and Dan Morgan-Evans of Air Charter Service (ACS) recently met on board an AN-124-100 to reminisce on their companies’ joint work and achievements.

Based on the aircraft provided by Alexey Isaikin who, in 1989 was working at the Antonov plant in Ulyanovsk, then the Soviet Union, and ACS founder Chris Leach, who contributed the western contacts and contracts, the relationship has had its ups and downs as the companies both found their own ways in the industry.

Until now, they have completed over 500 charters together – a large number of which have been carrying relief and humanitarian aid. (ah)
