50 e-trucks for long-haul food deliveries
Tevex Logistics, a subsidiary of the German Tönnies Group, is planning to electrify its fleet and deploy eActros battery-powered long-haul trucks for food deliveries in future.
The company recently signed a joint letter of intent with Daimler Truck for the order of 50 Mercedes-Benz electric semitrailer tractors. The eActros long haul with a range of around 500 km is scheduled to go into series production in 2024.
Tönnies has incorporated all its sustainability goals in its “t30” agenda. The group aims to become one of Europe’s most sustainable food producers by 2030. (ben)
