50 million vaccines to 50 countries
Right before tomorrow's World Health Day (7 April), Emirates Skycargo has become the first airline cargo carrier in the world to have transported over 50 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines (more than 220 t) on its flights. The carrier has also transported over 100 t of syringes across the world to support the delivery of vaccines.
Nabil Sultan, Emirates divisional SVP, Cargo: "We have been leading the global air cargo industry's efforts and working with our partner organisations in Dubai to rapidly distribute Covid-19 vaccines through Dubai to the rest of the world."
In January, the carrier joined hands with several Dubai-based entities to form the Dubai Vaccine Logistics Alliance to harness the strategic strengths of the emirate as a major global distribution hub for Covid-19 vaccines. (ah)
