50% more orders for Man Truck & Bus
The German truck manufacturer MAN is registering a substantial increase in orders in its commercial vehicles division, despite the difficult economic conditions. The order upsurge is due to greater demand for the somewhat favourably priced euro V vehicles just before the EU introduces its more stringent euro VI emission standard on 1 January 2014.
The value of MAN’s inbound orders amounted to EUR 2.7 billion in Q3/2013, 50% more than the EUR 1.8 billion in the same quarter in 2012. MAN Latin America also registered an increase in orders in Q3/2013, compared to Q3/2012. At EUR 719 million, this year’s Q3 order value was 5% higher than that of a year ago. (ben)
