50% of the trucks sold by 2030 to be electric

Sales launch for the first heavy-duty e-trucks up to 44 t: Volvo Trucks has opened its order system for its heavy electric trucks and plans to start series production this autumn. The electric trucks will initially be produced at the CO2-neutral Tuve plant in Gothenburg, Sweden.

In 2021, Volvo Trucks already took orders for more than 1,100 electric trucks in over 20 countries. Some of the electric versions of Volvo's medium-duty trucks have already been in series production since 2019. The Swedish truck manufacturer's goal is that 50% of the trucks sold by mid-2030 will have an electric drive. (ben)
