500 new hoppers to boost capacity
In Russia, the phosphate-based fertilizer producer PhosAgro has signed an agreement with Gazprombank to lease 500 next-generation hopper wagons for ten years, plus an option to purchase the cars at a later date.
The hoppers will be used to haul fertilizer and will be delivered by the Russia-based Tikhvin Freight Car Building Plant, part of Uniwagon, in January 2018.
PhosAgro’s assets currently include more than 6,000 owned and leased cars for primarily transporting apatite concentrate and fertilizers across Russia. The next-generation hoppers are able to transport an additional 7 t more than standared hoppers. (ben)
