850,000th truck from Cleveland

Daimler Truck North America has marked the production of its 850,000th vehicle at its Cleveland plant in North Carolina.

A 'Western Star 47X' was delivered to long-standing customer Alamo Group for use in snow and ice operations. The Cleveland site, operational since 1989, is the company's largest US heavy-duty truck plant, employing around 2,000 people.

It produces the 'Freightliner Cascadia' and 'Western Star' models and integrates both robotic systems and manual assembly processes. The Alamo Group, based in Seguin, Texas, manufactures municipal and airport maintenance equipment and has become one of the 'Western Star’s key customers, as Daimler Trucks stated. (js)
