A lot of space in the Ruhr basin
Garbe Industrial Real Estate and a group of institutional investors have purchased Ikea’s logistics location in Werne (Germany). The site, encompassing around 130,000 sqm of space for letting, has so far been used by a US-based e-commerce company.
The around 300,000 sqm tract of land has a logistically favourable location and therefore offers great potential for companies to settle there.
Christopher Garbe, managing director of Garbe Industrial Real Estate, explained: “The eastern part of the Ruhr basin has hardly any contiguous sites of this size that can be used for logistical activities.”
With this latest transaction, the property developer has over 3.1 million sqm of industrial and logistics sites to let in Germany. (mw)
