A new head for Scandinavia & Germany

International towage operator Svitzer has appointed Mathias Jonasson as cluster managing director for Scandinavia and Germany. He will assume his new position on 1 September 2021.

Jonasson, who will report to Svitzer Europe’s managing director Lise Demant, joins Svitzer from Inter Terminals AB, where, for the last six years, he served as managing director to lead and develop the Swedish side of the business.

Prior to that, Jonasson worked for logistics and supply chain storage provider Vopak, also in Sweden. There, he worked his way up from terminal manager to commercial manager & deputy managing director as part of the company’s Emea commercial network.

In December 2020, Mattias Hellstöm, then Svitzer’s MD for Scandinavia & Germany, was promoted to regional CCO for Svitzer Europe. He held both roles in the period before Jonasson’s appointment. (cd)
