Addition of Romania – Germany rail link
The rail transport company, TX Logistik, has augmented its railfreight services on the west-east axis by adding a new connection between Cologne (Germany) and Curtici (Romania) to its timetable. Three round trips per week are available at present, and the train offers a capacity of up to 36 load units per trip.
On the leg to Romania, the train primarily hauls megatrailers carrying, inter alia, components for the automobile industry.
On the return trip to Germany, the trailers are mainly filled with home furnishing items and other consumer goods. The biggest customers who use the open train system include the Italian logistics provider, Arcese, and the Romanian transport company Dunca Expediţii. (ben)
