African hub expands trucking

Geodis has launched a new cross-border trucking service linking South Africa with ten neighbouring countries. Operational since July, the service connects Johannesburg with destinations in Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Johannesburg hub acts as a central gateway for both full truckload and less-than-truckload shipments, offering predefined schedules, scalable capacity and customised routing according to Geodis.

"Cross-border logistics in Africa often comes with challenges," said Cobus Fourie, managing director of Geodis in South Africa. She adds that the initiative is designed to provide a seamless cargo flow backed by local expertise and reliable infrastructure. The move aims to strengthen Geodis’ African network. (js)
