American Airlines beefs up Argentinean meat business

In the run-up to the Christmas and New Year celebrations, American Airlines Cargo moved an increasingly wide range of seasonal foods by air.

For example, the carrier flew nearly 6.3 t of one of the most sought-after entrees, Argentinean beef, to Miami FL in December, after the 17-year old restrictions on transporting the beef were lifted at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires.

"Our team was ready and waiting to deliver the first air shipments of Argentinean beef within days of the regulation change," said Lorena Sandoval, director cargo sales – Latin American and Miami for AA Cargo.

The first shipment was witnessed by (from left) Marcelo Curcio (Jet Cargo), Leonardo Fernandez (AA account manager), Rodrigo Kuncewics (AA operations agent) and Alejandro Spataro (Swift Argentina). (ah)
